While Barca are expected to come in with another bid, Willian pledged his future to the club. The 30-year-old, who has 18 months left on his current deal, said: “My future is here. I have one-and-a-half years on my contract left, and I want to stay until it is finished.“I don’t know if the club want me to sign a new contract, but my focus is here. I would like a new contract. What Coutinho said that could rule out United move

Philippe Coutinho has been linked with a sensational move to Manchester United. The Brazilian has fallen down the pecking order atBarcelona since his £142million move to the Nou Camp from Liverpool during last season’s January transfer window.Coutinho has made it clear he wants to stay at Barcelona and fight for his place in the first team after his boss Ernesto Valverde called on him to improve.A transfer to Manchester United therefore seems quite unlikely, although reports from Spain suggest Coutinho will re-evaluate his situation at the end of the season.A switch to the Red Devils also seems unlikely as Coutinho used to play for the club’s bitter rivals LiverpoolBut what appears to suggest the transfer definitely won’t happen - at least for the time being - is Coutinho’s comments prior to moving to Barcelona.Last summer the Brazilian did his utmost to push through a move to La Liga - he even personally handed in a transfer request - but Liverpool stood firm.Barcelona came back in for the midfielder in January, and finally they got their man. Before signing Coutinho said: “It was hard. But Forrest is adaptable, hard-working, quick and seemingly available for a very good price. But Sutton has a concern about one thing in particular regarding a potential deal for the Celtic winger: the proposed transfer fee.Posting on Twitter in response to the Scottish Sun’s story linking Forrest to Liverpool, Sutton wrote: “£8million hahahahahahahahahahaha

Chelsea make Higuain contact

Chelsea have been in contact with Juventus in a desperate bid to sign Gonzalo Higuain.Maurizio Sarri is determined to get a new striker in January with Higuain top of his wish-list but the deal is proving to be difficult.Higuain, 31, is currently on loan at AC Milan and they want to keep him despite Chelsea ’s interest in the Argentina international.Chelsea will not allow our-of-favour Alvaro Morata leave Stamford Bridge until they bring in a new striker withBournemouth ’s Callum Wilson and Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi also in their sights but Higuain is currently top of the agenda. Chelsea boss Sarri knows and rates Higuain from his time at Napoli but the Stamford Bridge hierarchy do have concerns about his age and lack of sell-on value.Juventus would be reluctant to do another loan deal but it is a possibility if Chelsea pay a huge loan fee and also insert big clauses forcing them to make it permanent if they win the Premier League or Europa League.Sarri has told Chelsea that he must get a striker and the club is trying hard to resolve the Higuain deal with a loan their preferred option but that rests with Juventus. No solution is expected until after Juventus face AC Milan in the Italian Super Cup on Wednesday when the two Serie A clubs will also discuss Higuain.

Why Arnie was at airport

When Marko Arnautovic was substituted during West Ham’s 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday lunchtime, his exit was noticeable. As the Austrian international left the field in the 71st minute to be replaced by Andy Carroll, he applauded a record attendance at the London Stadium, before appearing to wave goodbye.Arnautovic has been linked with a January exit from the club, with an unnamed Chinese Super League team - thought to be Shanghai SIPG - seeing a £35million offer rejected by the Hammers. They have insisted he will remain at the club: “Marko has a contract and we fully expect him to honour it. He is not for sale.”But when the below photograph appeared on social media on Saturday afternoon, there were questions - mostly revolving around whether he was leaving Heathrow on the next flight to Shanghai.

Latest on Morata

Chelsea will not allow our-of-favour Alvaro Morata leave Stamford Bridge until they bring in a new striker.Morata did not even make the bench against Newcastleon Saturday and Sarri dismissed excuses that he had a hamstring injury, just saying he was not selected. That final snub and Sarri clearly not rating him is yet more proof that Morata has no future at Chelsea.Spain international Morata is desperate to leave and has held talks with Sevilla while Barcelona are also keeping tabs on his situation as a potential loan deal.

United eye Koulibaly

Manchester United will offer Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly an escape route away from Italy’s racists.United have made the 27-year-old Senegal international a prime summer target after failing to land him before the start of the season. And they believe Koulibaly will this time attempt to force his departure from the Serie A club after being targeted by bigots. The centre-back was sent off after being targeted by monkey chants when Napoli were beaten 1-0 at Inter Milan on Boxing Day.Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti blamed the red card on the referee’s refusal to halt the game – and later gave his player his total backing.
