'Pastor Swindles "300" Job Seekers in Akwa Ibom State'


A Pastor with Six other swindlers have been captured by police in Akwa Ibom state for supposedly cheating jobless young people of Ikot Ebok town, Eket local government area for openings for work in an oil firm.
According to sources from the territory, the speculated swindlers were captured inside the congregation premises situated along Ekpeyo st, off Liver Pool street Eket by cops in Eket on Thursday following a tip off.
It was found out that the minister of an undisclosed Orthodox church just recognized as Rev. Akpan the fraudster was captured while conducting fake interviews for the clueless employment searchers numbering more than 300.
A Youth Leader in the community, Mr Ubong Edoho said when he discovered that huge number of jobless young people assembled in the congregation compound for suspicious enlistment screening activity to verify work in Agip oil organization in Port Harcourt, he chose to inform the police. Edoho clarified that it was the point at which he made further enquiries into the enlistment practice that he found that the minister and his assistants collected the sum of N32,000 from every one of the exploited persons after giving them fake recruitment form to fill.
